yea i intend to carry a spare upper and lower.
Shanes comment reminded me of something I was thinking about several days ago.
Is there any reason to carry several different spare links opposed to an adjustable one? Say you have a peice of 2" .25 wall square that is 25" long and another peice of square that slides inside of it like how square drive shafts do. Then drill holes in both sections of tube every 1" or 1.5" for inserting a bolt to set the length. That way you could have a link that is adjustable from roughly 30" to 50". Granted the holes in the side of the square might make it weaker some but afterall it is just a spare to get off the trail or wheel just one more day.
So opinions or thoughts?

Mine have different sized heims for the uppers and lowers, so I'd have to carry two adjustable links to make that work.

Sounds like a good idea to me! If you run different length uppers/lowers and front/rear links you would only have to carry one spare for 7 or 8 links.

Carry a drill and a good bit with you on the trail and you would be set....drill on site and bolt.

if you want off the trail, cool but i cant imagine that would be something id want to wheel on for the rest of the weekend. Id think the bolt would just oval out and end up breaking the bolt? Or am i thinking to much again? lol

My heims are all the same size. I carry a piece of dom with a weld in insert and heim fixed in one end. The tube is as long as my longest link. Then I have another tube insert and heim. You have to have the supplies to cut the tube to length and weld in the insert.
This isn't something I would carry on the trail even if it could be adjusted with a bolt like JT is suggesting.

I have leaf springs.
You must be better at leaf springs than me. I wrecked one about every other trip.

How the hell do you do that? 2.5 years so far on mine.

You've seen how I drive. I try to crawl something once or twice. If I fail, I back up and mash the gas. With no shackle reversal, the springs bend at the frame hanger when the front tires jam into stuff. I've bent several springs and broken two.
