Who's in? I talked to AJ and he said he was going. I could use a pit guy or 2. I have VHF radio contact with the racecar for constant updates. I am going up fri nite and coming home sat after the race. I have room in the trailer fri nite for a couple of people. Hopefully all you will need to do is fuel us up once and a quick check of the truck, fresh tearoffs,water,etc....
Don't have much to offer but, beer ,food and some work:)

We got 5th in the 8 cylinder class. That 30 miles was harder that the 48 we made at the RCQ......

Damn! I thought about leaving RCRocks early to come up there. Wish I would have. What made it so tough? What's the course like. I heard that you really don't even need 4x4?
Are you gonna run the 7 miler?
If I get the buggy I'm looking at in time and get it set up. I'll be there.

I was an assload of ,tight, pain in the ass, muddy, asshole ridden, broken down truck dodging, tire grabbing, wheelin. It was my best "bang for your buck" racing I have done yet. It is nothing super hard or anything like that. yes you need 4 wheel drive.

So, it was just really hard to pass people? How long did it take you to finish? What kind of speeds did you see?

How many trucks in your class, what was the attrition rate?

No money to speak of. Highest payout was 300ish. They break it up into a bunch of classes. The speeds are like 10-20 most of the time and a couple of stretches you can go 40-50 but there are mud holes/puddles everywhere so you really dont charge them unless you just dont care about muddy water getting everywhere.. I had problems with cooling I never had because of so much mud.

I think attrition is like 60% and I got 5th in the v8 class getting a flat and pulling over for 5-10 min for the last 4 out of six laps. I got $50. I think my class was like 15-20ish, there was 112 racers 4-6-8 cyl classes ,Long wheelbase class, 2 buggy classes. My race was 2hrs 42 min for 30 miles or so. The course is just so rocky, tight you just cant go that fast or you hit trees/rocks.

Are you gonna run the seven miler?
A guess a buggy with 44" TSLs would probably not be well suited for this?
Will I be kicking myself for running it with an SM465 4 speed?

I am running all three. The 44s will be tight in a couple of spots but they will clear the rocks nicely:cheers:. Don't be afraid to run it. The Coal Bucket race is the next one and it is the shortest/easiest of the 3 from what i was told.

congrats on finishin a race for once:flipoff2: how were the other drivers? i've heard that there can be alot of unnecessary bumping goin on, i'm ok with the whole "rubbins racin" theory, but i'm not too crazy about somebody in a $200 beater smashing into a tire thats worth more than their rig. sounds like a fun race though, i'm pretty interested in coming out for the coal bucket

I have never been bumped in the rear......ever. I did get honked at. I only had to bump one guy to pass. The rule is 3 honks and they wave to aknowledge and pullover first available. This was mostly the case. I have heard of some extremely rude bumping going on though. Did not encounter it though.....

I am planning on heading down in July. What tires did you run? I am thinking that I might be better with my 40 boggers?
