5500rpm assult on one of the hill climbs at lake christy....... Now that would be really cool if it was true. I got the motor to use the block and flexplate as an end table in my den or to later down the road use the block to make a 383 shortblock. My guess is a blown head gasket near the #1 cylinder. Here are the postings from the previous owner.

i have an engine out of 99 chevy suburban, vortec 5.7, 133k on it, it needs either crank or rod bearings, not sure which
the heads are removed right now, i have the complete intake, exhaust manifolds, and some acc. brackets
i also have a new pair of head gaskets, valve stem seals, and some other little gaskets for it

$150 obo, i just want it gone

its back in a corner of the shop right now, i cant get pics, just dont have the time, sorry man
i sold the heads and gave the exhaust manifolds away, so its basically a short block
no actual accessories included, no starter, no alt., no ac comp, no ps pump, the alt bracket is there i think, complete intake is there
i do not have a harness, this is leftover from an engine swap, but i think someone else just posted a complete wiring harness for sale

$50 come get it out of my shop, bring a truck and i can drop it in the back with the chain hoist

it has the coil on it, distributor, plug wires are there i think, intake is basically complete, core water pump, harmonic balancer and crank pulley, push rods, lifters(roller), oil pan, flex plate...thats all i can think of

come check it out and see what ya think its worth, but i'd really like to get $50 for it...

shortblock is free to anyone that will come get this out of my shop, or it's going to get scrapped within the next couple weeks as soon as i get a chance to go to the scrapyard

holy sh!t...i didnt hear the engine run last time it was ran so i wasnt the one that diagnosed the problem:lol:...i never even looked at the bottom end other than the metal shavings i saw in the oil pan...i knew the engine had to come out so my dad decided to get a used engine to put in(his truck)

that's kinda odd though, it was driven to the shop that diagnosed the problem before i started working on it, the head gaskets werent blown, the intake gaskets were in bad shape when i pulled the intake, maybe that was the cause? none of the cylinders/pistons had any damage signs that i noticed when i swapped the new/used engine in

im just glad now that i gave it away...i would've felt bad taking $$ for it and finding out later that it wasnt as described:doh:
