Dan did you ever do anything to fix your wet seats? http://pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=701047

I have the seats a part and was considering wrapping the chunk of foam you sit on in plastic. Probably lay some plastic along the side pieces as well so that any water will run down. This would keep the bottom cushion from getting soaked, well other than the little bit of foam that is on the seat cover itself. That should dry pretty quick.

I am thinking more along the lines of getting caught in the rain while towing. I guess I could try out the actual covers they sell but I am not sure how they'd hold up to blowing around when towing.

Thoughts or better suggestions?

I have not had any luck trying to cover them while towing.

Those will double the price of my seats.

I need to price them out. Just checking out my options that are basically free first. :D

55 gallone trashbags, with some black binder clips to hold it to the seat

Not big enough.

I got a custom set from PRP that are waterproof. So far, they've been incredibly waterproof sitting in my living room.

Before these, I took thin plastic sheeting (similar to the stuff that your dry cleaning comes in) and covered them completely. Then I put the seat cover back on. Seemed to help a lot. I also wrapped a tarp about the whole mess for towing. I think their bags are supposed to be made for towing, so they should hold up. Give them a ring to see. Ask to talk to Aaron or Mike.

I don't know what to do but I can tell you one of the few things I've ever done to piss Morgan off is not covering the buggy at night while we are wheeling. Something about soaked seats, tight jeans, and chafe-age. She puts up with A LOT but that just pisses her off!

Let us know what you figure out

Ah yeah, swamp ass! Not a good way to get the woman in the passenger seat.

The BAD part about these seats is that you CANNOT get them fully dry without taking them completely apart. The water will stay in the foam for weeks.

The little bit of foam in my cover dried over night with the use of a fan. The actual seat foam you sit on is still drying.

I think I'll try the plastic route. Not sure if I should give some light weight plastic a try like the dry cleaner bags or something heavier like a heavy duty trash bag.

Jack brought up the concern about swamp ass from the plastic being there when I told him my idea.

No swamp ass from the plastic being there. The seat foam takes an eternity. One thing to try is to put a towel on it, and sit (yes, you get a wet ass, but you can change at home) to squeeze the water out.

Yea I have felt them and thought they were dry. 20 minutes into a trailride and a nice wet spot shows up on your shorts
