I'm debating getting a mesh style window cover instead of teh classic ribbon nets, supposedly the visibility is alot better.
However, I do wonder if those would tend to collect dirt/puddle splashes etc quickly? Don't see too many off-road trucks running them.

Post examples. If the mesh is what I am thinking then I've seen pics of lots of guys running them. Quite a few at the RQC I think.

Lots of the race trucks use them. The only real difference that I noted was that the mesh was hard to see my mirror through. Further away stuff was good. I like the string style that I have on the zook.

I just wonder about crap getting stuck in there after running through a muddy puddle or something

Lots of trucks run those. Look for some RCQ pics and you should see how they look after being covered in mud.

I heard Bob Polak runs that netting on his mini.

I've run these for years and they do not get clogged with mud at all. That was on the 4th lap of the RCQ.

I run them due to if you get a snag in a line it is a very right mesh and wont make a huge hole. If it is a string type net you will immediately have a large hole where your hand/fingers will find their way to if you are in a wreck.

Tight mesh. about 60$ for a custom set. Cheaper than a broken arm

They mesh ones do seem a little more durable than the string ones.

I repaired the hole in my string net with para cord.

They all have their place and custom ones are all the same price no matter what they are made of.

Mastercraft made mine. I was pleased.
