Trailer boards

What is the best way to attach the boards to a trailer?

Currently mine has lag bolts through the boards and frame. The bolts are counter sunk in the boards and have a torx head. This just seems like a cheap crappy design and several of my boards are loose from broken bolts.

Mine has pieces of 2" strap welded over the ends

That's how mine is, but it has screws as well on the main deck.

Need to replace the wood on my dovetail this year, and I expect it to be a PITA.

When I replace those torx I use carrainge bolts....one per board crossmember....


On a side note, JT, I following you from marley station down 100, 1 , 103 almost every morning.....
