2007 24ft Gooseneck. 14k axles! Its gonna work good for what I want to do, but I'm having problems and I dont know if its my truck, the trailer or me not ever pulling a goose before.

Pulled it home yesterday in bumper to bumper traffic. between 20-30mph I'd get a harsh bounce out of the rear end. so I get home and look things over and the only thing I could figure was the overloads were close to hitting and causing a funny rebound. So this morning I loaded the jeep up and took it for a ride, 90% of the bounce is gone and its about .5" off the overloads, so I figure its ok. Get home and unload the Jeep and start looking at the trailer from back to front and notices its got a nice lean towards the passenger side. Crawl under it, find no issues with the springs or axles, and I measure things. Get to the front and find the passenger side is 2" lower at the front corner of the deck. Do they make trailers with a twist to them or is the trailer bent? Sitting in the truck looking out the back window you can see the gooseneck part leaning towards the passenger side. I'm gonna call the dealer I bought it from and get his input monday.

Whats your thoughts?
Thanks
Rick

Look at the shackles on your springs... I've inverted a shackle on my trailer before by going off a high curb with a load in the trailer.

If it's actually the trailer frame that is bent, that definitely sounds like a problem.

Its got slipper springs so no shackle other then the center pivot point. I cant see the frame of the trailer bent, nor can the 4' straight edge I have. I just dont know.

I replaced my shocks with some of the heaviest ones I could find and removed my traction bars(which two joints were bad). So I'll try her tomorrow and see what I get.

They might be two different issues.

Bias ply tires? My trailer with bias ply tires hops at 37mph. Tows great at all other speeds.

Sounds like tires to me. One of the old farm trailers used to shake the hell out of the truck at 20-30. New tires and it was god to go. As far as the trailer being bent. Take some fishing line and pull a straight level line to measure off of. Or use a laser level. They're easy to bend back, anyone with a frame machine can do it, or some chain, a welder and a bottle jack, or a forklift. it's just metal

Unbalanced radials. The twist isnt bothering me, I have the heavy equipment to straighten.

My main concern is the hop. but of course ran out of daylight today to play with things, so I'll have to wait til next weekend.

My trailer is slightly tweaked when empty also. my father used it to get some custom 28' 2x12's when we did a new roof last summer, and they set them on one side so the fold flat ramps would support the ends at the dovetail. well to this day my trailer leans to that side when empty, but load the truck on it and chain it down and it pulls straight again.

I agree that this problem is probably tire related as well.

Well my bro in law just got a tire balancer, next free weekend I get I'll swing it by and see if that helps!

Thanks guys!
