Well, I am in the market for a used Dodge truck. Looking at 2007-2009 Dodge Mega Cab. Most of my friends grabed the 5.9Ls when they picked up the Mega Cab, because it was what we were all used to having. Should I look for a 2007 5.9L or are the 6.7Ls working out ok for people.
I'll be selling my 2001 Dodge with the 5.9L that is slightly hopped up soon.

The 5.9s dont have the DPF and other clean air crap so I would go with the 5.9. But from what I hear the 6.7s are good motors. Depends on what kind of deal you can find too. Either is a good choice.

I would keep the truck that you have
I would stay away from the 6.7 and the clean air crap.
Get the 6.7. Do the DPF delete and EGR blockoff plate as soon as you get it.

The 6.7's have sweet auto's in them. If you go this route do the dpf and leave the egr. The egr acts as a waste gate. Adding a waste gate to the turbo is the best solution, but would void the warranty.

They all have their good points and bad. A 6.7 with the emissions BS removed is a good motor. The 6 spd auto rocks too.

John my megacab is where its at. the 5.9 was a good motor but the other options that the 6.7 has definately outshines the old truck.

the stick isnt that great, the gears dont seem well matched for the truck. but over all i love my dodge. Once i get the emissions yanked it will be a great truck.

John if you do go with the dodge make sure you get the 3.73's and not the 4.10's. Huge difference with the auto.

kinda wished i had 4.10's. i think 4th and 5th would be stronger/.

in a manual yeah. I think 4.10's is the way to go. With the 6 speed auto the 3.73's are perfect.

I have been talking to him. He has it posted on Pirate as well.
I won't get 4.10s again with an auto. I have that with my current truck and it runs a little high in the rpms at higher speeds.

And we know you like the higher speeds... Atleast with my truck and trailer
