Daily driving the TJ to Rosedale, and I can't seem to make it more than a day without having some major issue. Currently I have a shock hanging with a broken mount and a driveshaft held together with duct tape.
So, I have to get the work done on the pickup this weekend so I can have something reliable. Goal for the weekend is to either have it running well enough to drive it on Monday, or know that it's a problem and I have to buy a new vehicle next week.
Problem is a blown head gasket on the passenger side. Thankfully, it just just dumping coolant out the side of the block and not a drop got in the oil.
It's pulled apart enough to where all I need to do is loosen the exhaust manifold bolts at the collector (already pulled at the head), then unbolt and pull the head. Only expected issue is a broken off heater hose fitting at the manifold that need to swap out for a better fitting.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, even if it's just somebody sitting around keeping me motivated.

I think I'll get outside about 9:00.
Anybody know how to set a distributor when you don't know what position it was in when pulled? Seems that the marks I made on it can't be seen at all. #1 cylinder will be exposed, so it should be easy to find TDC, then all I need to do is point the rotor at the #1 wire on the cap and drop it in?

Huge thanks to Joe and Blake for the help yesterday.
Got it stripped down and cleaned up. Everything looked good, so we started putting it back together. Head, exhaust and valve train are on now. Broken fitting is also removed from the intake, and a new one was sourced last night.
Gonna get the manifold installed first thing today, then try and sort out the timing. Should be simple from that point on.
All are welcome to stop on by, if you're looking for something to do.

Cool, I am in Cottage Grove right behind that eyesore of a Bowling Alley I wish they would tear down or do something with.

I hate that rotting old alley. I wish they would do something with it. On a good hot day you can smell it rotting away.

Nah - that would be the Bloody Ponds area - there are bodies all over that place
That bowling alley still stinks from the people who used to frequent it.
