View Full Version : 2010 Maryland Creepers Spring Trailride
Maryland Creepers
01-18-2010, 01:57 PM
The Maryland Creepers will be hosting our official spring trailride at Rausch Creek Offroad Park (www.rc4x4.org) in Tower City, PA (http://www.mapquest.com/maps?city=Tower+City&state=PA&country=US&latitude=40.589199&longitude=-76.552803&geocode=CITY) on Sunday, April 11th, 2010.
On Saturday, April 10th, the club is signed up for the annual RCRocs Club competition represented by a team of 4 vehicles and drivers. This is an event for local clubs to duke it out for bragging rights and we all know Maryland Creepers is the best club around so let's prove it! While there will only be 4 club vehicles involved in the competition we need the whole clubs support. It is a lot of work to keep 4 vehicles running for a day of competition and we will need a good pit crew. We also want to have as many people there as possible to support and cheer on the members representing the club.
After the day of competition, we will be planning a club dinner; where we can discuss some new ideas the BOD is kicking around and take input from the rest of the club.
For the trailride on Sunday we will plan to split into 3 groups, we may combine some of these groups depending on the turnout. If the group desires a guide will be provided.

If you're unsure what group you should sign up for post some details about your rig and your experience and we can make a recommendation.
Rausch Creek provides free on-site primitive camping for its customers and I'm sure we will be having a bonfire and partying it up a little after the dinner. There are also lots of hotels in the area as well as other campgrounds for Saturday night. I would reccomend the comfort inn as it is a pleasant hotel and they offer the best Rausch Creek Offroad Park discount with a nightly rate of $59.99.

This is an open event, both memebers and non-members are invited. Please copy and paste the section of the post with the trail levels and what you are signing up for if you will be attending. If you're thinking about joining the club or interested in learning some more about fourwheeling come on out! There will be right seats available for Sunday if you don't have a rig.

I should have a tow rig and working wheeler by that time. Pretty sure I could hang with the hard crowd but I'd hate to tear the runner all to shit my first time out in so long. In other words I'll let you know when the repairs are done lol.

Just so you know rausch creek is for 4wd vehciles and is not open to dirtbikes or quads. There is a seperate park of those. More info can be found on these sites.

Thanks. I just emailed them for clarification. A Tyrex is a UTV not an ATV. Its all a matter of interpretation. Hopefully I will get an answer soon.

I'm not new to offroading, but it's been maybe 10 years since I did anything other than that which was necessary to get to my hunting and fishing spots. I'm looking for a 4x4 club that I feel comfortable with. Can me and my mild (2" spacers and 30x9.50 A/T's) TJ ride with the 'easy' group?

Just FYI, a few of the club members will be going up to Rausch Creek this Sunday 3/28 to get some practice and form a game plan for the club competition. If anyone's interested in coming up to hang out and get an idea of what will be going on during the club comp; come hang out with us on Sunday.
We are all really looking forward to the club comp and the club trailride the day following.

Dropping like flies!
Ben and Amanda are you guys still coming?
I'm down for anything so depending who shows up we may make one big group, or two smaller groups. I don't care as long as I'm wheeling!
I think I'll have a right seat to run greens/blues.
I will not have a trail truck for Sunday. Looking for a right seat.:chair:
