Hey guys. Do you know if the '94 ZJ's dana 35 will swap over to a 02 TJ's dana 35? The wife and I are swapping rigs. Mine has 4.10's with a locker, hers are stock with 3.55's.

Thanks guys for the input!

nope, not directly. insides will swap but the whole housing would take some mods for each one to work.

locker is easy to change though, gears aren't too bad but can be a pain.

Whats the actual difference? If its minor like a shock bracket then no big deal.....

Thanks

I'm pretty sure all the upper axle brackets are different as well as the sping pads. that's 2 UCA brackets and i think the track bar bracket.

you would have to switch them around on both and get it right to be happy with the results...lots of work but definitely doable if you have the time/skills/etc.

If you swapped the rears, wouldn't the front gear ratios be different?

He might swap the rear rear and front rear on both.

correct. The front axle is identical from what I See, so maybe I'll just rebuild the rear in the TJ Axle then.

Thanks guys

I would put the shafts from the TJ in the ZJ D30. They should be the newer stronger 297-x ujoints. should be a direct swap pending ABS tone rings...

Why not upgrade the TJ when you swap? Go with an 8.8 with 4.10s.

Well the whole reason we are swapping is due to a baby on the way. so money is tight.

Dan, But I may....Just dunno yet. I'm really tempted just to pop out the front locker in the zj and slide it in the TJ and be done for now.

Thanks
Rick
