I have a 16', 84" wide betwen the fenders, 7k Car Trailer. In really good shape. I'm needing/wanting something longer. Perfer 25-30' range so I can stick a popup camper on the front of it. as far as a popup goes, I only want/need a small one. 8x8 or 8x10. Something small enough I can turn side ways on the trailer so the bed are over the side of the trailer and the deck of the trailer meets the front door.
I have two options:
Buy a New or used 25-30' Bumper Pull or GooseNeck, $3k-5k.
OR
Lengthen my Trailer and do something with the axles or add another one.
Does anyone have some thoughts or idea's to my madness? Money is tight. So the less money spent is best for me.

Personally I'd think you would be better off selling yours and buying what you need. You could probably save some money by looking for a trailer that would need some work.
I cant help think you'd be into building yours for as much or more than selling and buying. Unless you already have the steel, axles and tires sitting around.
I agree with frosty. After looking at a few trailer rebuild threads, it is going to be very difficult to turn what you have into what you want.

No I dont have that stuff sitting around. My biggest thing on selling mine is, whats it worth? I bought it in 2005 for $2500-2600 out the door.
its a 2003 Anderson in good shape with good tires on it. Low miles overall on the trailer also. Checked bearing and brakes this summer and bearing were good and brakes were 50-60% remaining.

I will help you out and take it off your hands for $500. :)
I would think you can get $2000 for it if everything on it is in good condition.

Yup everything is solid and in good shape. I'll have to do some searching. I'd love to find someone to trade straight up with. All I really need is a 24' bumper pull.

When you find them, please send 'em my way, as I need to make the same trade. :D

Jack, you have a PM
I built my 24 ft open, with 3500# axles it's maxxed out with my 4K 4Runner, and 2 ATVs loaded, to go camping. Might be better to start over. If you can sell yours for 1500 or trade up you'd be better off. I've got about $3K in mine from tongue to tail lights

Can I fit two YJ's in it? I doubt it, but if I can and it can handle the weight, consider it sold.

Rippey....YJ's are like 152" long (12.66')
12.66+12.66= 25.32'
25.32>24:flipoff2:
and besides he has cabinets in the front of the trailer:thumbsup:

I figured as much, just didn't have the time first thing this morning to look up the numbers. Oh well...

Just FYI, I'm pulling the RV/enclosed combo for the first time on April 10th. I'm a little concerned about the overall length/size/maneuverability. If I find it to be a nuisance I will be selling/trading my enclosed to get a car trailer again.

Give me a shout if you decide to go that path.
