Short Bus

There is a short school bus for sale here locally. It is bus not one of those van types. Owner wants $1500 for it and I was thinking of getting it and using it as an RV/ tow rig.
It is a gasser, it is in excellent shape and well maintained but "aged out" of the fleet.
Any thoughts? Should I skip that and buy an RV?
