thread title ...Frank is awesome

Is there a way to edit a thread title? Say a person has a forsale thread and the item is sold. Even with the advanced edit the person can't make their thread say "sold" or "delete" to those viewing the forsale forum.

I don't think you can..on the old board we could but I don't think vBulletin allows for it.

You have to use the advanced settings. This is from the For Sale rules thread, if you need to come back to it.



To edit your orignal post:
Open the thread then click the (edit) button located in the lower right hand corner of your post. Then click "Go Advanced" and type the word "SOLD" in the title line. Lastly Click The (Save Changes) button at the bottom.

^ Look at the top. I just changed the title per the instructions but it only changes the title on the post not the thread.

Under thread tools I only have print, email, subscribe and add poll. must be a mod thing.

There is no way for a normal user to change the thread title that other users see. Just the post title like JT pointed out.

There is a feature you can give users. The ability to delete their own threads. This would fix need to change the thread title. Much like Pirate does. Cant change the thread title there either and probably due to the same software limitation.

A mod can bring it back so its not completely gone if the need arises.

I believe it is just a setting, I'll look into it.

FWIW, I think it's annoying to go into for sale and see thread titles changed to SOLD or DELETE. There could still be valid info in the thread about what price something went for.
