Saw these when I was visiting my grandparents in Illinois. Thought someone might appreciate them. They were interesting to say the least.

They sure are different! I saw one like the second one running around the DC Area in the last year. Of Course its in no where near as nice of shape as that one.

The second one had a rear door on the passenger side. Wish I had grabbed a couple more pics. They were very clean. Whoever owned them appreciated them.

I have seen ones like those being used for horse trailer tugs... pretty cool idea when you figure you can get the diesel econoline vans for $1000-3000 in good shape with low miles ..there was also a company that made a fiberglass rear "cab" section to convert the old box vans into chassis cabs and I have seen a few of them setup as hay haulers

I'd rock one for a dedicated tow rig/hauler. I've actually seen quiet a few of those over the years. One used to come in our shop like the 2nd one. IIRC it had a goose neck hookup in the bed.

My only issue would be that I just don't like the cockpit of fullsize vans at all... A truck with it's bench seat just feels more comfortable to me. When I've ridden in vans I feel like nothing is keeping me in the seat for some reason

Yeah they are kinda wierd at first. Your also at a odd spot in the vehicle as well compared to pretty much anything else on the road.

I'll take the shag carpet, but why the hell should my seat swivel?

for older folks getting in and out of the vans was always hard so alot of the outfitter places started making it so the front seats swivel towards the door so you can slide out... old laguna's had them too i think... also in some of the vans the front seats would swivel 180 degrees so you could sit facing people in back (and play cards on the fold out table etc)
