Any special precautions I need to take?

Figure that it sits at about 500# on tongue weight, but there are no markings on my trailer jack as to what it is rated for.

It would be stored strapped down to the trailer, ready to haul.

Mine lived in a storage lot like that for 2 years ...no problems.

I would load it a little tongue light and strap it down to the axles not the frame.

A hitch lock so it doesn't disappear.

Mine has lived like that for many years now. I alway drop the front of the trailer back down till the walking beam is level. It distributes the weight a bit better across the springs. I also have 2 jack stands that sit under the frame rails of the trailer so the jack doesnt hold the weight non stop and the trailer is more stable.

I had my blazer broke on the trailer for about 6 months. The only bad thing was some flat spots in the trailer tires when I finally pulled it down the road again. They worked themselves out in a couple of miles.

Don't leave the tires at trail pressure all the time, you'll start blowing beads when you wheel it.

Curious as to why that would be? Never heard that before.

Not really an issue in my case. Two of the tires don't hold air for more than a couple weeks anyway.

I think Bosley was the one that told him leaving them at trail pressure all the time is what caused the beads to keep blowing. Maybe one of those two could chime in and give some insight. Been a couple years ago, just one of those little things that was tucked in the back of my melon and thought I'd throw it out there.;)
