To fix it right you have to take the time to pull it out. You can get spray adhesive from any parts store, re-stretch it, and glue it. Someone else might know another way but an hour or two of work and it will last longer than most other temporary fixes.
Here are some temporary fixes it have seen:
thumb tacks
bubble gum
staples
screws with BIG washers
and of course duct tape:thumbsup:
the adhesive is something ill try this weekend. pulling the head liner could be a lot of fun.
i like the bubble gum temporary fix, very original. i was thinking super glue for a tem. fix.
anyway, thanks for the info!

I've used staples with good results
But yes, the "right" way is to pull the whole thing down, backin gand all. Pull off all the fabric from teh backing. Spray adhesive. *wait for adhesive to get tacky* then re-apply fabric. Let it dry, now reinstall.
Good luck, that spray adhesive can get messy fast, you fingers will be all tacky and sticking to everything. Be careful what you touch (e.g. don't plan to take a pee break once you start)

I took my grand cherokee to a custom interior place an paid them $100 to pull my headliner, strip the old fabric off and recover it.
Basically what Ratlabguy said. I didnt want to be bothered with pulling interior panels and crap.
I didn't think about taking it somewhere, i may end up doing that. reading the steps from Ratlabguy it sounds too involved for my little brain. i was hoping just to spray adhesive under the fabric and put it up. but, that is way i'm not allowed to work on my own vehicle's anymore. plus the headliner has a rip in the front and I don't have the machine at home to patch it.
thanks guys!
